Would East Lyme be prepared in the event that we needed to provide mass doses of medication to a large population of people in a short period of time? We plan to be… but we need your help! Training our staff and volunteers is a BIG part of making sure we are prepared in the event there was an actual need for this type of large scale distribution.
On Saturday, August 16th from 9:00 a.m. to noon, East Lyme Public Safety in conjunction with our CERT Team (Community Emergency Response Team), MRC Volunteers (Medical Reserve Corps), The East Lyme Police Explorers, and members of the State of Connecticut, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Radiological Emergency Preparedness Division will be holding a mass dispensing exercise for Potassium Iodine (KI) Pills for residents. Some are finding it difficult to pick up their supply at the Town Hall during the hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday Through Friday. So here is your chance! You don’t even need to get out of your car!
Help us to help you! Participate in the drive-thru and be sure to tell your neighbors too!
Where: East Lyme Middle School, 31 Society Road, Niantic
When: Saturday, August 16th, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – Noon.
