Board of Governors
The Board of Governors is made up of 7 members, voted by the membership at the Annual Membership Meeting in May. The term for each Board seat is 3 years. A Board member may serve two consecutive terms and is eligible for a new term 3 years after that second consecutive term. Board terms are staggered so that 2-3 seats are up for election each year.
Per the Charter, the Board is responsible for the “care, custody, management, control and direction of all funds and property of the Association.” The Board is also empowered to “adopt by-laws and ordinances which it shall determine necessary or desirable to effect the purposes and powers of the Association.”

Regular Meeting Schedule for 2025
All meetings are held at the Black Point Beach Club Association Clubhouse located at 6 Sunset Avenue, Niantic, Connecticut at 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted. The BOG meets on the fourth Thursday of the month, January thru October. The Annual Member Meeting at which Board members are elected and Budgets approved is held on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. The End of Season Informational Meeting is held on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.

If necessary, the BOG may call Special Meetings in accordance with CT Freedom of Information requirements. Special Meetings must be noticed at least 24 hours in advance and typically have a limited agenda to address business that can not wait until the next Regular meeting.
